Methyl Salicylate, Menthol
1. PHARMACOLOGY:
Methyl Salicylate is a salicylate nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug. It has analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. It is absorbed through intact skin and is efficient by topical administration.
Menthol is applied locally to the skin, it dilates the blood vessels, causing a sensation of coldness followed by an analgesic effect.
2. INDICATIONS:
Relief all kinds of pains associated with:
- Arthritis
- Simple Backache
- Strains
- Sprains
3. CONTRAINDICATIONS:
- Hypersensitivity to any of the components of the product.
- Chronic renal failure.
- Wounds or burns.
4. PRECAUTIONS:
- Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
- Do not bandage after application.
- If redness or irritation or pain occurs more than 10 days after using the drug, the treatment should be stopped and physician should be consulted.
5. SIDE EFFECTS:
It may rarely cause skin rashes, pruritus
.
6. DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Potentiation of Warfarine effect could be noted following topical application.
7. DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION:
Apply generously and gently massage until the BINGO cream disappears.
Repeat 3 to 4 times daily.
8. PACKAGING & COMPOSITION:
BINGO – Cream: A pack of 20 or 40 g cream in aluminium tube. Each gram of cream contains Methyl Salicylate 30 % and Menthol 8 %.
9. STORAGE CONDITIONS:
Store BINGO – Cream at temperature below 30°C.
