1-INDICATION:
-Elyctrolyte imbalance indicated in sodium depletion which can arise from such conditions as gastro-enteritis diabetic ketoacidosis, ileus, and acites
- Nebulizer diluents.
Wound irrigation.-
2-CONTRAINDICATIONS:
-Congestive heart failure
-Sever kidney disease
-Swelling due to excess fluid
Cirrhosis of the liver.-
3-USES IN PREGNANCY AND BREAST FEEDING:
This medicine can be administered during pregnancy and lactation upon your doctor opinion .
4-DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRARION FORM:
The dosage is dependent upon the age, weight and clinical condition of the patient.
In severe deficit 4-8 liters, 2to3 liters of isotonic solution may be given during 2to3hours and then at slower rate.
5-PRECAUTIONS FOR USE:
- Verify physical integrity of container.
- Inspect for clearance of the solution.
-excessive administration should be avoided, the jugular venous pressure should be assessed, the base of the lung should be examined for crepitations, and in elderly or seriously ill patients it is helpful to monitor the right central venous pressure.
-Restrict intake in impaired renal function, cardiac failure, hypertention,peripheral and pulmonary edema and toxaemia of pregnancy.
-If sodium chloride is required for acute or chronic hyponatraemia, regardless of the cause the deficit should be corrected slowly to avoid the risk of demyelination syndrome and the rise in sodium concentration in plasma should not exceed 10mmol/liter in 24 hours
6-SIDE EFFECTS:
Administration of large doses may give rise to sodium accumulation, oedema, and hyperchloremic acidosis.

Sterile solution of 0.45% sodium chloride.
Osmolarity: 150 mOsmol/100 ml
pH ranging from 4.5 to 7
