1-PHARMACOLOGY:
Tioconazole is an imidazole antifungal with a broad spectrum of activity including action against dermatophytes, Malassezia Furfur, Candida and against some Gram-positive bacteria.
2-INDICATIONS:
TIOSYD – cream is indicated for:
- Dermatophytoses
- Pityriasis versicolor
- Candidiasis
3-CONTRA INDICATIONS:
Hypersensitivity to Tioconazole or any of imidazole derivatives.
4-PRECAUTIONS:
- This dermatological cream is not intented to an ophtalmic use.
- In case of any hypersensitivity reactions, application of the cream product should be stopped.
5-PREGNANCY & LACTATION:
Though available studies and experiments show no teratogenic effect, yet it is not recommended to use the product during first trimester of pregnancy, and also it is not recommended to use it during lactation.
6-ADVERSE EFFECTS:
Local reactions including burning, itching and erythema.
7-DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION:
TIOSYD – cream is applied morning and evening with slight massage on the affected area and the area around.
In case of intertrigo to be applied by small quantities in order to avoid any maceration.
The duration of treatment is depending on the infecting organisms and sits of infections:
- Mycosis (pedis): May need 6 weeks of treatment especially in chronic hyperkeratosis lesions.
- Pityriasis versicolor: One to four weeks treatment.
- Other Dermatophytoses lesions, candidoses and erythrasma: Generally 2 to 4 weeks.
8-PACKAGING & COMPOSITION:
TIOSYD – Cream: A pack of aluminium tube of 20 gr. Each tube contains Tioconazole 1%.
9-STORAGE CONDITIONS:
Store TIOSYD – Cream at temperature below 25°C.
