Urinary Antispasmodic
1. PHARMACOLOGY:
URI - TAC is a smooth muscle relaxant for the urinary tract. It has also some antimuscarinic effects.
2. INDICATIONS:
- Dysuria, vesical suprapubic pain, frequency and incontinence as may occur in cystitis prostatitis, urethritis, urethrocystitis and urethrotrigonitis.
- Vesico - urethral spasms resulting from instrumentation or surgery.
3. CONTRAINDICATIONS:
- Obstructive disorders (pyloric, duodenal or lower urinary tract).
- Gastro - intestinal haemorrhage.
- Relaxation of the gastro - intestinal muscles.
4. SIDE EFFECTS:
URI - TAC may cause headache, nausea, fatigue, diarrhea, dry mouth, rarely pruritus, tachycardia, difficulty in ocular accommodation.
5. PRECAUTIONS:
- URI - TAC should be used with caution in patients with glaucoma.
- Patients should not drive or operate machinery.
6. DOSAGE & ADMINISTRAION:
200 mg (1 tablet) 3 times daily.
7. PACKAGING & COMPOSITION:
URI - TAC Film Coated Tablets: A pack of 20 film coated tablets in blister. Each f.c.tablet contains Flavoxate Hydrochloride 200 mg.
8. STORAGE CONDITIONS:
Store URI - TAC Film Coated Tablets at temperature between (15-30)°C.
